Each assembled part is inspected for material defects, carefully sorted and weighed before being fitted into a ski by our skilled craftsmen. As wood is a naturally grown raw material, this is especially important for the wooden cores. This allows us to eliminate material, manufacturing and visual defects and ensure maximum quality. This minimises variations in weight and flex. As this is a handmade product from natural materials, weight variations of up to 20g can occoure.
Wood
The aluminium of woods. With maximum stability and minimum weight, this wood sets new standards in terms of smoothness, vibration dampening and handling. Native to Russia, it is also known as 'The Russian Queen'. Originally it comes from China and is known as Bluebell or Kiritree.
The long, straight fibres of the wood give it a linear flex line and even flex throughout the length of the ski. It is also hard enough to hold binding screws securely.
German Oak, Precious, indigenous and high quality. The low swelling properties of the hardwood make it ideal for ski sidewalls, preventing water from penetrating the core.
Five times stronger and two times stiffer than steel. The highend material is known from Aeronautics and Spacecrafts and is perfect to be used for a light ski of high quality.
About half the stiffness and twice the weight of carbon, it increases the ski's damping and reduces unpleasant vibrations. It is a slightly cheaper alternative to carbon and its transparency makes it ideal for design applications.
Basalt fibre
A very innovative material, previously known as a heat shield, has been developed to provide an environmentally friendly alternative to carbon. In terms of strength and material properties, basalt fibre is intermediate between carbon and glass fibre.
Sintered base
To match the quality of the rest of the materials, we use only the highest quality sintered bases to maximise durability and performance. The 1.2mm thick base is available in various colours and transparent. (Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, White, Black).
all our Skis feature 1.8mm Steel Edges direktly from the Manufakturer in Innsbruck.
In addition to the 1.2mm bases and edges, we also offer a black 50% thicker 1.8mm version. This allows you to use the ski more often.
